The term light is admired in the world of diets and despair at losing weight. However there are many false myths surrounding these products and they do that sometimes fall into the delusion that eating a light meal is a food that will make us lose weight by taking the echo. Light cheese is a food? for a light product needs from food already on the market and contain 30% fewer calories than this. Accordingly, light is not a food product that is associated with thin alone, but rather involves a significant reduction of calories respect to the reference product. What if instead of a light portion took two, and we eat more calories than one serving of the food in question. Light does not always mean no sugar, no fat or calorie-free.
Eat light can cause nutritional imbalances is that the obsession to eat light that sometimes can reach deficienciasT bear in mind that certain vitamins (A, D, E, K) require fat to be absorbed, and as much fat Sugar is needed in a certain amount in our body structures to create and regulate the metabolism.
Why eat a light if we ourselves can make it light? the simple preparation of an adequate food may decrease their caloric intake, no added sugar, season with less oil or cooking techniques uses less heat can cause food to become a light in the eating.
Really people for health (hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, diabetes) need to decrease the content of calories or certain nutrients can benefit from this type of product. The other people who use it simply by being on a diet or want to reduce weight may just be sure that this kind of products do not achieve their goals, we must combine exercise with healthy eating and balanced. Remember that no food, no matter how light it is, is going to solve the weight problem, everything is in a less sedentary lifestyle and eating better.

If someone had to go through a heart problem, such as a heart attack, for your own health the best choice I could make with regard to diet is to follow a low-fat diet or follow the Mediterranean diet, so once again suggest a recent study published in The American Journal of Cardiology.
While both types of diets provide similar amounts of protein, carbohydrates, cholesterol and saturated fat, the second option is much healthier monounsaturated fats, especially omega 3 fatty acids from fish as beneficial to cardiovascular health.
However, the authors of this study said in its conclusions that either option may be the most appropriate choice for a better quality of life, while it would be beneficial to the health of those who have already suffered a heart attack.
The study itself to see how those patients had been joined and completed a food plan with any of these two diets, after four years showed a significant decline in the risk of any new cardiovascular disorder “was a 70 percent lower in participants who received the dietary intervention, “said Catherine Tuttle thereon, the main responsible for the study.
The research team of Sacred Heart Medical Center and University of Washington, took a sample of 50 patients who met strict diet Step II of the American Heart Association (reduced fat) and another 51 who followed the Mediterranean diet. Read more »

Although the conclusion of the study published by the Journal of the American Dietetic Association may not seem like another world for those who have followed ever so popular diets like Atkins, South Beach or Ornish plan may be useful especially if you suffer from heart or have high cholesterol.
Diet ‘Atkins’ example by banning carbohydrates, while allowing foods rich in saturated fats like butter and red meat.
In turn the diet ‘South Beach’ emphasizes the moderate dose of unsaturated fats like olive oil and turn carbohydrates into ‘good’ from plants or vegetables. The Ornish plan is instead a vegetarian diet low in fat effectively to prevent heart attack.
Investigators at first did not seek to study the weight loss that these diets cause, but the biological effects of these in cholesterol, blood vessel function and inflammation. The 26 participants were non-obese patients following each of the three diets for a month and allowances were structured so as to maintain their weight. Read more »
